Description
The Bavarian eco-area register includes compensation and replacement areas for interventions in nature and the landscape as well as eco-account areas (compensation register) and other ecologically significant areas.
It is maintained and continuously updated by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment. It comprises
- a compensation register consisting of
- Compensation and replacement areas in accordance with nature conservation and building regulations and
- Areas on which nature conservation and landscape management measures have already been carried out with regard to expected interventions or which are suitable for this purpose (eco-account areas)
- Areas purchased for nature conservation purposes (e.g. biotope network, bog renaturation),
- areas from land consolidation procedures with ecological or landscape conservation measures.
