Authorized plant protection products can be used in an area of application other than that specified in the authorization with an individual authorization.

The legal requirements for the use of plant protection products have led to indication gaps in numerous horticultural crops, but also in special agricultural crops. In order to close the indication gaps, there is the possibility of an authorization according to § 22 para. 2 of the Plant Protection Act (PflSchG).
With an individual authorization, authorized plant protection products can be used in an area of application other than that specified in the authorization.
Individual professional users (e.g. farmers, gardeners) or legal entities (e.g. producer associations, producer rings) are eligible to apply.

The approval in individual cases or the application for an extension of the approval period must be submitted to the Bavarian State Institute for Agriculture, Institute for Plant Protection.
The application documents can be submitted by e-mail or in writing.
Once the application has been successfully reviewed, approval will be granted until the end of the approval of the plant protection product applied for or for a maximum of three years.
All documents required for approval must be submitted at least three weeks before the planned use of the plant protection product.
If the Bavarian State Institute for Agriculture has received all the necessary documents, the application can be processed within three weeks.
In justified exceptional cases, the competent licensing authority may grant a derogation for the use of plant protection products on land not used for agriculture, forestry or horticulture.
Plant protection products can be used in public areas, such as parks or cemeteries, by qualified persons if they have been approved for this purpose by the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety.
As a manufacturer, you must have new additives in plant protection products tested and approved by the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety.
The Bavarian State Institute for Agriculture can carry out tests on the efficacy and crop compatibility of plant protection products in accordance with Section 59 of the Plant Protection Act.
If you use plant protection products, advise on plant protection, or advise persons who use, instruct or supervise plant protection products as part of a training relationship or an auxiliary activity, you need a certificate of competence.
