The Free State of Bavaria promotes the purchase of orchard trees. With the Bavarian Orchard Pact, nature conservation and agriculture go hand in hand. The Free State is thus protecting this centuries-old cultural landscape. The aim is to plant 1 million new trees by 2035.
In Bavaria, orcharding is a form of fruit growing that has developed over centuries and is of the utmost importance for rural areas, the cultural landscape and biodiversity. The current orchards in Bavaria are therefore to be preserved and increased by planting additional orchards.
Funding is provided for the purchase of orchard trees.
The minimum and maximum number of orchard trees per funding application is 10 and 100 trees respectively.
The orchard trees must meet the following three quality requirements:
The above quality requirements must be confirmed by the tree nursery on the invoice or on a separate document.
The funding application must be submitted digitally to the responsible Rural Development Office. The office that is responsible for the location where you want to plant the orchard trees is responsible.
Under "On site", select the location where you would like to plant the orchard trees. You can then start the application via the "Online procedure" tab on the left-hand side.
The projects may not be started before the notification of the grant award. Projects that have already begun are excluded from funding.
Please note: Ordering the orchard trees from the tree nursery counts as the start of the project.
