The purpose of the grant is to make it easier for mentally ill people to participate in normal life and to break down prejudices.
Funding is provided for expenses incurred by lay helpers in connection with the care of mentally ill people.
In principle, the associations of independent welfare organizations and their affiliated organizations are eligible to apply.
A lump sum is granted per lay helper.
The grant is awarded as fixed-amount funding within the framework of project funding. The lump sum is granted as a subsidy and amounts to up to EUR 155 per lay helper per year. The grant is reduced by one twelfth for each full month that the lay helper was not active.

Approval
The governments are responsible for approvals.Applications for the current year must be submitted by March 1 of the current year.
Funding is provided without legal entitlement within the scope of available budget funds.
