If an injured party dies as a result of the injury, the costs of repatriation and burial are covered.
If an injured party dies as a result of the injury, the person who arranged the repatriation is entitled to reimbursement of the costs of repatriation. The entitlement to reimbursement includes the actual costs incurred for repatriation to the place of burial, insofar as they are necessary and reasonable.
The same applies to the costs of the funeral. However, the entitlement to reimbursement only covers the costs of the funeral up to the amount of one seventh of the annual reference value applicable at the time of death in accordance with § 18 Paragraph 1 of the Fourth Book, i.e. currently EUR 6,420.
Benefits paid on the occasion of the death on the basis of public law provisions for the purpose of meeting the costs of repatriation and burial are taken into account.
The costs are borne by the actual cost bearer.
Death is always considered to be the result of an injury if an injured party dies from a health disorder that is recognized as a consequence of the injury.
You must apply to the Bavarian Center for Family and Social Affairs for the funeral costs.
They will check your application and send you a decision.
