Description
Bavaria is facing considerable demographic changes - in addition to the state-wide ageing of the population, the population will decrease in some sub-regions. As the demographic development differs considerably from region to region, the Bavarian State Statistical Office provides a tool in the form of the regionalized population forecast which - in combination with local expert knowledge - enables a region-specific situation analysis based on current data.
The Bavarian State Statistical Office's regionalized population forecast is calculated using a scientifically sound method that is also used by the Federal Statistical Office, the other state statistical offices, the statistical offices of most major German cities and official statistics in the neighbouring countries of Austria and Switzerland. Current results are available at the level of the administrative districts and independent cities, the regions, the administrative districts and for the entire Free State of Bavaria.
