Description
The Bavarian State Institute for Agriculture (LfL) provides information on the necessary application and the requirements for approval as an inspection body for compliance with the specifications in the areas of protected geographical indication (PGI), protected designation of origin (PDO) and traditional specialty guaranteed (TSG) for agricultural products and geographical indications for spirits. It accepts the application and grants approval if necessary. The approval is the basis for the inspection body's activities (carrying out on-site inspections at the producer's premises) in the territory of the Free State of Bavaria.

Fees
The fee for the approval of an inspection body in accordance with Section 5 para. 2 sentence 1 LfLV is between €500 and €1,500, the fee for the extension of the approval in accordance with Section 5 para. 2 sentence 1 LfLV is between €250 and €750 (Ordinance amending the list of costs dated April 13, 2019).
