Support teachers support teaching at primary, secondary and special schools and help to ensure the success of lessons by working with groups of pupils. They take on special tasks in the individual support and promotion of pupils independently and on their own responsibility and also play an active role in shaping school life.
In order to qualify for the teaching profession at secondary schools, students must have completed their academic training at university and have completed their practical training at a seminary and at the host school during their preparatory service.
Practical school training for the teaching profession for primary and secondary school teachers as well as specialist and support teachers is supervised by the government. Notifications and applications during the preparatory service must be submitted to them.
