Psychotherapist; submission of the declaration of renunciation of the license to practice medicine

You can waive your license by submitting a written declaration to the competent authority.

This form can be submitted electronically (e.g. via a secure contact form using your user account with login via the electronic ID function or the ELSTER certificate) or handwritten and signed in paper form to the responsible authority.

If you no longer practice the profession of psychotherapist, psychological psychotherapist or child and adolescent psychotherapist and you no longer wish to use your professional title, you have the option of renouncing your license to practice as a psychotherapist, psychological psychotherapist or child and adolescent psychotherapist.

This also ends your compulsory membership of the Bavarian Chamber of Psychotherapists.

The last professional activity must have been exercised in Bavaria.

original medical license

You send the original of your license to practice as well as the declaration of renunciation (see "Forms") to the responsible government.

If you last worked as a psychotherapist in the administrative districts of Upper Franconia, Middle Franconia or Lower Franconia, the government of Lower Franconia is responsible, otherwise the government of Upper Bavaria.
