Procedure details

The evening secondary school helps working adults earn their secondary school diploma in three or four years. Instruction follows the secondary school curriculum, though the number of subjects is reduced.

Classes are generally held in the evening and consist of 17 to 20 hours per week. In the final year, classes may also be held during the day.

The educational focus depends on the specialized subject chosen from the group of elective subjects upon enrollment. In addition to German, English, and mathematics, the final exam is taken in physics, business administration/accounting, or social studies, depending on the subject groups offered by the respective school.
