Previous full-time employment that is conducive to civil servant status can be taken into account on application (notional bringing forward of entry into service). In addition, certain periods spent by applicants before actually joining the service (e.g. military or civilian service) are taken into account by the pay office at the State Finance Office when determining the first step.
The "main occupation" requirement is deemed to be fulfilled if the employment in question is remunerated, represents the main focus of the professional activity according to the circumstances of the person concerned and the employment was completed at least to the extent permitted in the civil servant relationship.
Periods of employment that are a prerequisite for acquiring the qualification (e.g. preparatory service, traineeship, other training periods) are not eligible and do not have to be stated.
The application for recognition of eligible periods of full-time employment can be submitted to the responsible government (teachers at elementary school, secondary schools, special schools, schools for the sick and vocational schools - excluding FOS/BOS).
All periods claimed must be substantiated by appropriate evidence to the exact day and with a description of the activity.
