If you wish to inspect, test, maintain or repair X-ray equipment or sources of interference on a commercial basis or employ persons for this purpose, you must notify the competent authority before commencing the activity.
Companies, facilities or persons who inspect, test, maintain or repair X-ray equipment or sources of interference on a commercial basis (including in connection with their manufacture) must notify the competent authority in writing.
Likewise, anyone who, in connection with the operation of third-party X-ray equipment or a third-party source of interference, employs persons who are under their supervision or performs tasks themselves must report this if this could lead to an effective dose of more than 1 millisievert per calendar year for the persons employed or for themselves.
According to the Radiation Protection Ordinance, the following activities must be reported to the competent authority before commencing work:
Inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of X-ray equipment or interfering radiators (also in the context of manufacture - activities in accordance with § 22 StrlSchG)
Employment of persons in connection with the operation of third-party X-ray equipment or sources of interference - Activities in accordance with Section 26 StrlSchG
The notification must be submitted to the Competence Center X-Ray by post, e-mail or electronically via the online procedure for the notification of activities in accordance with Sections 22 and 26 of the Radiation Protection Act (StrlSchG).
After checking the submitted documents and, if necessary, requesting further information, the authority will issue a confirmation of notification.
