The pension insurance course leading to the degree "Diplom-Verwaltungswirt/-in (FH)" is characterized by the efficient combination of theoretical training (university degree) and practical training in statutory pension insurance.
From the 2016/2017 academic year, starting in September 2016, the training will take place together with the tariff employees of the Bayerische Versorgungskammer, for whose needs the training content of the pension insurance specialization has been partially modified.
The course is offered at the University of Applied Sciences for the Civil Service in Bavaria, Department of Social Administration in Wasserburg am Inn. The practical training takes place at the regional institutions of the German Pension Insurance in Bavaria or at the Bavarian Pension Chamber.
In your later work, you will decide on compulsory insurance and benefits from the statutory pension insurance scheme, including benefits for participation, on the basis of relevant statutory regulations. It is also possible that you will later work in external advice centers, in administrative departments, in data processing at the pension insurance institutions or at rehabilitation institutions (clinics). The focus of the course is therefore on the Social Code - Sixth Book - (Statutory Pension Insurance) including the associated ancillary legislation. As a trained junior employee of the Bayerische Versorgungskammer, you will decide, among other things, on old-age, disability and survivors' benefits for members and insured persons in the area of occupational and municipal pensions.
Training begins each year on September 1 with a 2-week introductory internship in the respective training authorities. The course begins in mid-September. In total, the course comprises 19 months of theoretical studies and 17 months of practical training.
The recruitment figures are based on the needs of the training authorities. Depending on the training authority, training is carried out as an employee or as a civil servant on revocation.
You can find more information about the content and course of study, the recruitment authorities and the application process on the Internet (see "Related links").
Recruitment requirements:
The study program requires the establishment of a civil servant relationship on revocation with a Bavarian employer, the Free State of Bavaria or an institution of the German Pension Insurance in Bavaria. In addition, it is possible to train as an employee of the Regional Authority Bavaria South of the German Pension Insurance and the Bavarian Pension Chamber. These employers assign the civil servant or employee to study at the university.
In order to study as a civil servant on revocation, participation in a special state selection procedure (state personnel committee procedure) is required. To be accepted as an employee, you must have a training contract with the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bayern Süd or the Bayerische Versorgungskammer.
Students receive free accommodation at Wasserburg am Inn during the theoretical part of their studies.
Please note the dates for the selection procedure by the Bavarian State Personnel Committee (see "Further links").
