General psychiatric, neurological clinics and outpatient clinics
The specialist psychiatric clinics and departments of the districts or their hospital companies offer specialized inpatient or day clinic treatment for all mental disorders and illnesses, addictions and mental crises. For outpatient examination and treatment, patients can contact the outpatient clinics of the hospitals directly.
Outpatient assistance for mentally disabled people (mentally ill and addicted people)
The districts provide outpatient services for mentally ill and addicted people who are significantly impaired in their ability to participate in society due to mental disorders (mental illness, addiction). The same applies to people who are at risk of mental disability and whose ability to participate in society is therefore highly likely to be impaired. At the request of the person concerned, the benefits can also be granted as part of a personal budget.
Assistance in facilities for mentally disabled people (mentally ill and addicted people)
The districts provide benefits for participation (integration assistance) in inpatient and semi-inpatient facilities (e.g. day facilities, day care centers, workshops, transitional facilities and residential homes) for mentally ill and addicted people who are significantly impaired in their ability to participate in society due to mental disorders (mental illness, addiction) and for whom outpatient services are no longer sufficient. The same applies to people who are at risk of mental disability and whose ability to participate in society is therefore highly likely to be impaired. At the request of the person concerned, the services can also be granted within the framework of a personal budget.
Assistance in day centers for adults
Day centers are semi-stationary facilities for chronically mentally ill adults with a limited, fluctuating range of services. They generally live outside of inpatient psychiatric care structures, e.g. with their families, in their own home or in assisted living facilities.
Social psychiatric services
The districts promote the expansion of a comprehensive range of outpatient services through social psychiatric services, which are generally run by independent welfare organizations.
Psychosocial addiction counseling centers
The districts promote the expansion of a nationwide range of outpatient services through psychosocial addiction counseling centers, which are generally operated by independent welfare organizations. The personnel and material costs are mainly financed by the district.
