You must apply to the competent authority for permission to continue a search started in another federal state in Bavaria.
If you are already recognized as a "search guide", "search dog handler" or "search team" in a federal state bordering Bavaria, it may happen that game crosses the state border and the search is to be continued in Bavaria. In this case, a general authorization to continue the search in Bavaria is required in advance.
If injured game moves to a neighbouring hunting ground, the game tracking regulations set out in Art. 37 of the Bavarian Hunting Act (BayJG) apply (without agreement between the hunting ground owners), which can delay or complicate the continuation of the search.
In order to prevent animal suffering as far as possible, search teams commissioned by the hunting ground owner and officially recognized in Bavaria can cross hunting ground borders without the consent of the neighbouring hunting ground owner and release the game as part of the search.
"Tracking teams", "dog handlers" or "tracking guides" may also carry out cross-territory searches in other federal states according to similar rules if they are recognized there. If they are also active near the Bavarian state border, it can happen that tracked game crosses the state border into a Bavarian hunting ground and has to be tracked there.
In order to avoid having to apply in the regular recognition procedure for these cases, which are manageable in terms of numbers, it is envisaged that search teams recognized in a neighbouring federal state in accordance with its regulations can receive a revocable permit. This permit entitles the search leader to continue searches started in their federal state in Bavaria. In these cases, they have the same powers and obligations for the hunting grounds in Bavaria as the regularly recognized search teams in Bavaria.
Permission is granted by the higher hunting authorities (governments).
The government responsible for your application is the one in whose jurisdiction the most frequent border crossing is expected to take place.
Note: The issued permit is valid for all border crossings into Bavaria.
"Tracking teams", "dog handlers" or "tracking guides" may also carry out cross-territory searches in other federal states according to similar rules if they are recognized there.
(Copy of a certificate or other proof)
Guides submit their application in text form (e.g. informally by e-mail) together with the proof to the government in whose jurisdiction a border crossing is most likely to take place.
The government will check the documents. If the requirements are met, you will receive a notice of approval.
The one-off authorization is subject to a fee.
The fees are usually between EUR 12.50 and EUR 60, depending on the work involved.

The processing time depends on the quality and number of applications received by the relevant government.
The permit only covers cross-territory searches started in your federal state and ending in Bavaria. If you also want to carry out cross-territory searches as a search team that started directly in Bavaria, you will need regular approval (see "Related topics" below).
The decision of the authority may be appealed to the competent administrative court within one month of receipt.
Die Anerkennung eines Nachsuchengespanns erfolgt auf Antrag des Nachsuchenführers durch die höheren Jagdbehörden (Regierungen).
The recognition of a search team must be applied for by the search leader to the competent government.
