Description
The Federal Republic of Germany is a defensive democracy. To protect the free democratic basic order from political extremists, it has an early warning system, the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. The task of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution is to collect and evaluate information in order to identify threats to internal security in good time. It is also responsible for counter-espionage. The duties of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution also include informing the public. To this end, the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, Sport and Integration publishes an annual report on the protection of the constitution in cooperation with the Bavarian State Office for the Protection of the Constitution.
