In order to accelerate digitization in Bavarian care facilities and to relieve the financial burden on the facilities and reduce the costs passed on to those in need of care, the Free State of Bavaria is providing a total of EUR 15.0 million for complementary funding in addition to federal funding.
In accordance with Section 8 (8) SGB XI, long-term care insurance funds the purchase of digital and technical equipment. In addition to the care insurance funding (Section 8 (8) SGB XI), complementary funding of a further EUR 12,000 and a maximum of 40% of the funds spent will be granted as part of the Free State of Bavaria's "100% WLAN strategy - complementary funding".
Outpatient and inpatient care facilities licensed under § 71 SGB XI are eligible to apply.
Eligible costs include the purchase of digital or technical equipment and associated training that supports, for example, investments in IT and cyber security, internal quality management, the collection of quality indicators, improved work processes and organization in care and cooperation between doctors and inpatient care facilities.
Funding is also available for basic, advanced and further training as well as training in digital skills for people in need of care and care staff in long-term care.
The funding is granted as a subsidy.
Funding is provided for up to 40% of the funds spent by the care facility. A maximum one-off grant of up to 12,000 euros is possible per care facility.
With this funding program, Bavarian care facilities receive a further 40% of the proven costs from funds of the Free State of Bavaria in addition to the federal funds. This reduces the own contribution from 60% to 20% and provides maximum funding of 24,000 euros (instead of the previous 12,000 euros). Applications for complementary funding can only be submitted for care facilities that are operated in Bavaria.
The prerequisite for the approval of the funding is the submission of the grant notice from the care fund responsible for the implementation of the federal funding program, which was issued after 01.04.2025, as well as a declaration of compliance with the requirements resulting from the state aid law.
The application must be submitted digitally to the State Office for Care. The approval authority is the State Office for Care.
There are no costs.
There are no fixed deadlines for this funding.
You need a valid ELSTER business certificate to apply.
