If you want to register a new vehicle for road use for one day, you must apply for a day registration at the registration authority.
Would you like to register a new vehicle for road use for one day? Then you must apply for a one-day registration at your vehicle registration office at your main place of residence.
A one-day registration is issued for new cars that have not yet had a previous owner, i.e. have not yet been registered. It is the first registration of a vehicle subject to registration. The day registration is always valid for the duration of the day on which the first registration takes effect.
It cannot be applied for vehicles that must have their own license plate but are not subject to registration (e.g. light motorcycles).
If you want to use a vehicle with day registration on public roads, the prescribed license plates for that day do not require any stamp stickers or sticker holders. As the driver, you must display the temporary registration certificate in the vehicle so that it is clearly legible from the outside until the end of the day of initial registration.
As soon as the date of first registration has expired, the vehicle is automatically deemed to be deregistered. You may then no longer drive the vehicle on the road. You do not need to apply for deregistration separately.
Day registrations can be applied for under certain conditions as follows:
Application on site
Online application via the i-Kfz portal
Legal entities and natural persons can apply for day registrations online via the i-Kfz portal of the responsible registration authority.

The day registration can be applied for on the day on which the vehicle is to be moved.
