Procedure details

The Bavarian Minister President honors people celebrating their 18th, 70th, 75th, 80th, 85th, 90th, 95th, 100th and every other anniversary as well as their 50th and every subsequent semi-centenary or round wedding anniversary.

There is no entitlement to be honored. The congratulatory letters are issued by the State Chancellery with the assistance of the State Office of Finance; an application is not required.

Letters of congratulations are sent directly to the anniversary celebrants by the State Chancellery.

The prerequisite is that the jubilarians have their permanent residence in the Free State of Bavaria.

Honoring retirement and marriage anniversaries: free of charge

The Federal President honors old-age and marriage anniversaries on the occasion of the 100th, 105th and every further year of life as well as on the occasion of the 65th, 70th and 75th wedding anniversary. The prerequisite is that the jubilarians have their permanent residence in the Federal Republic of Germany. Applications for these honors can be submitted by the municipalities to the Federal Office of Administration, which sends the congratulatory letters from the Federal President directly to the jubilarians.
