Only those who hold a falconry hunting license in their own name are permitted to hunt.
The first issue of a falconry hunting license is dependent on the applicant having passed a falconry test in addition to the hunting test. In addition to the falconry test, a limited hunting test, i.e. without a shooting test, is sufficient.
The falconry examination takes place centrally at the beginning of each year at the Bavarian Forest Farming School in Kelheim. The falconry examination is an oral examination in which practical tasks relating to the keeping of birds of prey and the practice of falconry can also be set.
The Bavarian State Office for Weights and Measures is responsible for registering for the examination as the central hunting and falconry examination authority.
