You must immediately report the occurrence of an emergency, incident or other significant event to the competent authority.

The report must contain all available information required for the assessment of the incident. As far as possible, the causes and effects as well as the measures taken to remedy the effects and prevent such an incident must be stated.
The notification should be submitted by a person with expertise in radiation protection.

The notification must be submitted to the local trade supervisory office or the Bavarian State Office for the Environment (LfU).
The respective authority records, checks and evaluates the notification and then forwards it to the Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment and Consumer Protection.
In the case of exposures in the context of medical and non-medical applications on humans, the competent authority also forwards the notification to the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) via the BeVoMed database.
Notifications must be submitted to the competent authority without delay.
If the incident could have significant adverse effects on people, the environment or property (e.g. large-scale release), the Situation Center at the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior - IC 5 - (Tel. 089/2192-20) and, if necessary, the nearest police station must also be informed immediately
