Companies, corporations, institutions and authorities with passively fished waste must submit data to the State Statistical Office every year.
The survey of passively fished waste takes place annually. It is an official survey of companies, corporations, institutions and authorities. If you collect or dispose of the following waste, you will receive a written request from the responsible State Statistical Office:
You must provide information on how much waste you have collected and disposed of in a given year.
There is a legal obligation to provide information for this survey. The owners or managers of the companies, corporations and institutions or the authorities are obliged to provide information.
Reporting period and time of survey
The information must be provided for each reporting year. The survey is repeated annually. You will only receive the request to participate in the survey in the year following the reporting year.

How are the results of the survey used?
The results form the basis for national reporting in accordance with the EU directives on single-use plastic products and port reception facilities. The EU requires detailed evidence of the disposal of passively fished waste and fishing gear. Fishing gear contributes intensively to marine pollution if it ends up in the sea after use or is even deliberately disposed of at sea.

Bavaria-wide supplement
The State Statistical Office will provide you with an online questionnaire for this survey on the IDEV Internet platform. IDEV (= Internet Datenerhebung im Verbund) is a secure electronic procedure for data collection. You will also receive the access data for IDEV with the written request.
As a company / public body, you are generally obliged to use the online questionnaire. In cases of hardship, companies can apply for an exemption from the online reporting obligation.
