Motor vehicle; application for national individual type approval

Procedure details

For motor vehicles that do not belong to an approved type, an official approval confirming that these vehicles comply with the applicable regulations is required before they can be admitted to road traffic.

For new vehicles of categories M (passenger cars, motorhomes, buses), N (light and heavy trucks) or O (trailers) for which no type approval or EU-wide individual approval in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2018/858 Art. 44 is available, a national EU individual approval in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2018/858 Art. 45 in conjunction with Section 13 of the EC Treaty is required.
