Procedure details

The course is offered at the University of Applied Sciences for the Civil Service in Bavaria, Department of Social Administration, in Wasserburg am Inn. The practical training takes place at the Bavarian Family and Social Affairs Centers responsible for the respective regions of Bavaria or at the state social court or the respective social courts.

In your later work, you will process and decide on applications for parental allowance, child-raising allowance and advise young families on questions regarding parental leave. They determine the existence of a disability in accordance with the Severely Disabled Persons Act, issue ID cards if necessary and provide information on the associated compensation for disadvantages for severely disabled people.
Another area of activity is the Bavarian Integration Office/Main Welfare Office, which is active in all regional offices of the Bavarian Center. They are available to all people with severe disabilities and all employers as expert contacts for all questions relating to the integration of severely disabled people. They also decide on benefits for victims of violent crimes, people with vaccination injuries and victims of measures contrary to the rule of law in the former GDR and the expulsion areas, as well as war victims and people with military service injuries, and advise on other possible social benefits. The course therefore focuses on the Federal Pension and Soldiers' Pension Act, the Victims' Compensation Act, the Federal Parental Allowance and Parental Leave Act, the State Parental Allowance Act and the Ninth Social Code (Severely Disabled Persons Act).

Recruitment requirements:

  • Unrestricted entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences, subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, general higher education entrance qualification or a level of education recognized as equivalent by the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Culture, Science and the Arts (e.g. master craftsman's examination and equivalent advanced vocational training examinations)

  • Age limit: not yet 45 years of age at the time of recruitment

The study program first requires the establishment of a civil servant relationship on revocation with a Bavarian employer. This employer then assigns the civil servant to study at the university.

The prerequisite for establishing a civil servant relationship is first of all the passing of a state-wide selection procedure in which all applicants of a year group must participate.

Students receive free accommodation at the place of study during the theoretical part of their studies.

Please note the dates for the selection procedure by the Bavarian State Personnel Committee (see "Further links").
