You must apply to the government of Lower Bavaria for admission to the final examination for the profession of plant technologist.
Plant technologists work as qualified specialists in public institutions and private companies with a focus on plant breeding, plant propagation and plant protection, as well as in seed companies, agricultural and horticultural research institutes.

Training program
The apprenticeship lasts three years. It is a classic apprenticeship in the dual system. You will learn the practical activities in the training company. Vocational school lessons take place in blocks at the Einbeck vocational school in Lower Saxony. The training period can be shortened if you have a high school diploma, a vocational diploma or a non-agricultural vocational qualification.
The apprenticeship ends with a successful final examination.
Further training
After the apprenticeship, there are opportunities for advancement through further training:
Admission to the final examination is granted in accordance with § 43 of the Vocational Training Act (BBiG),
Pursuant to Section 45 Para. 2 BBiG, anyone who can prove that they have worked in the occupation in which the examination is to be taken for at least one and a half times the prescribed period of training is also admitted to the final examination.
Periods of professional activity also include periods of training in another relevant training occupation. Proof of one and a half times the minimum period may be waived in whole or in part if it can be credibly demonstrated by submitting certificates or by other means that the applicant has acquired the professional competence that justifies admission to the examination.
Foreign educational qualifications and periods of professional activity abroad must be taken into account.

The application must be completed by the training organization (company owner) and the trainee and submitted to the government of Lower Bavaria.
There are no fees for admission according to § 43 BBiG.
An examination fee of EUR 180.00 is charged for admission in accordance with Section 45 (2) BBiG.
The application must be submitted by March 10 of the respective year.
You must submit the application for the intermediate examination in the training occupation of plant technologist to the government of Lower Bavaria.
You can apply to the government of Lower Bavaria for an assessment of the suitability of a training center for plant technologists.
Training centers must apply to the government of Lower Bavaria for registration of the vocational training contract in the register of vocational training relationships.
You must apply to the government of Lower Bavaria for the examination of the suitability of persons for the training of plant technologists.
