The purpose of the grant is to expand education for sustainable development and environmental education in Bavaria in line with the public interest and the educational mandate of the Bavarian constitution.
Grants are awarded for projects that create high-quality ESD/ESD education programs. These projects must be aligned with the guiding principle of ESD. The assessment of the value is carried out together with the granting authority (governments) and the advisory committee in the course of assessing the project applications.
Grants can be awarded to institutions that are committed to ESD by creating high-quality ESD/ESD educational programs. The grant recipient is the legal entity with its registered office and business operations in Bavaria that is responsible for the environmental education institution, e.g. a municipality, a church institution or a non-profit legal entity under private law such as a registered association or an association with legal capacity.
Eligible costs are expenses for the preparation, implementation and follow-up, including evaluation, of an educational project.
The grant is awarded as project funding by way of pro rata financing.
A grant of up to 70 percent of the total eligible expenditure can be awarded within the scope of the available budget funds.
Applications for grants in accordance with these funding guidelines must be submitted by the project sponsors to the approval authority in a single copy using the current application form from the StMUV and supplementary documents (e.g. project description, cost calculation, financing plan). The local government (granting authority) checks the eligibility requirements and forwards a copy of the application to the StMUV.
The applications are discussed by an expert committee (advisory committee) appointed by the StMUV, whose meetings are also attended by representatives of the governments. The StMUV makes the decision on the selection of projects based on the recommendations of the advisory committee.
The funding decision is issued by the granting authority, which also handles the further funding procedure.
