The funding program supports the public transport authorities in improving and expanding transport accessibility in rural areas. In order to enable adapted mobility, expenditure on demand-oriented forms of public transport in rural areas and pilot projects for cross-district express bus connections in bus transport are funded.
Funding is provided for the establishment of flexible and demand-oriented mobility services in local public transport and cross-county express bus services. A pilot character is desirable for the new projects.
Eligible costs are the operating cost deficits of the transport services, which are compensated by the public transport authority.
The funding is granted in the form of pro rata financing/capital participation.
The type of funding is project funding.
As part of the proportional financing, up to 75% of the eligible costs can initially be funded as project funding with degressive funding rates.
Only the introduction of new flexible forms of service and express connections with buses in rural areas are covered by this funding. A written application is required. The projects must be in line with the local transport plan. The exact requirements are set out in the guidelines for the funding program for supplementary local transport services to improve mobility in rural areas with demand-oriented forms of general public transport and pilot projects for cross-district express bus connections in bus transport (ErNa) of 16 May 2023, 97-B (BayMBl. No. 275).
Funding recipients are public transport authorities in accordance with the Bavarian Local Public Transport Act (BayÖPNVG), usually the districts and independent cities.
No documents are required.
The application must be submitted to the responsible government. The government is also responsible for approval.
There are no costs.
Funding can only be provided for projects that have not yet been started or for which an early start has been agreed.
