Anyone may inspect the register of associations and the documents submitted by the associations. It is not necessary to demonstrate a legitimate interest in inspecting them. This means that non-members can also find out about the factual and legal circumstances of registered associations (e. V.).
In Bavaria, the management of the register of associations is concentrated at those local courts that are also responsible for managing the commercial register. The local court - register court - in whose district the registered association has its registered office has local jurisdiction. These are the following courts:
The register and the documents submitted to the register can be inspected during office hours at the registry court's office.
In addition, the registers of associations kept electronically throughout Bavaria can also be viewed online via the joint register portal of the federal states. Further information on viewing the register online can be found under "Online procedure". The register portal is also used for nationwide announcements by the register courts.
You can find more information on associations with legal capacity in the brochures "Der eingetragene Verein" and "Vereinsrecht - Rund um den eingetragenen Verein (e. V.)" (see "Further links"), which you can download free of charge.
Inspection of the register of associations at the registry court is free of charge.
At your request, the register court will provide you with copies of the register of associations. The copies will be certified on request. A fee of EUR 10.00 (EUR 20.00 for certified copies) is charged for the issue of copies from the register of associations.
Online inspection and retrieval of data are also free of charge.
