Procedure details

Anyone may inspect the register of associations and the documents submitted by the associations. It is not necessary to demonstrate a legitimate interest in inspecting them. This means that non-members can also find out about the factual and legal circumstances of registered associations (e. V.).

In Bavaria, the management of the register of associations is concentrated at those local courts that are also responsible for managing the commercial register. The register and the documents submitted to the register can be inspected during office hours at the registry court's office.

    The register of cooperatives is public. Anyone is permitted to inspect the register of cooperatives kept by the register court and the documents submitted for information purposes.

    Anyone is permitted to inspect the commercial register and the documents submitted for this purpose for information purposes. A legitimate interest in the inspection does not have to be demonstrated.

  • Partnership register; inspection
    The partnership register is public. Anyone is permitted to inspect the partnership register kept by the register court and the documents submitted for information purposes.
  • Register of associations; application for registration
    The entry in the register of associations must be registered with the competent register court.
  • Associations; registration of a foreigners' association or a foreign association
    The formation, amendment and dissolution of a foreign association or a foreigners' association based in Germany must be registered within two weeks with the respective district administrative authority, i.e. the competent district-free municipality or the competent district office.
