The Free State of Bavaria grants project-related subsidies to districts and municipalities for the construction or expansion of municipal roads. The aim is to improve traffic conditions and increase road safety.
Eligible for funding are the construction or expansion of
under the responsibility of municipalities or districts as well as
in local thoroughfares for which the municipalities are not responsible for the construction of the roadways; irrespective of the construction responsibility, projects under letters e and f can also be funded if they are carried out by independent municipal companies under public law or municipal companies in private legal form.
Grants can be awarded to rural districts, municipalities and municipal associations, provided that they are responsible for the construction of the eligible roads.

The funding is granted as a subsidy.
The type of grant is a project grant.
Proportional or fixed-amount funding is granted in relation to the eligible costs. The amount of funding is determined in accordance with No. 7 RZStra.

Exclusion criteria:
"Construction" is synonymous with new construction. "Expansion" means a structural change to existing traffic routes in terms of location, cross-section or load-bearing capacity that is urgently required to improve traffic conditions. This also includes the construction of traffic light systems at junctions and an increase in the load-bearing capacity (increase in substance) of engineering structures.
If construction projects are development facilities in accordance with Sections 127 et seq. of the German Building Code (BauGB), only the costs that are not attributable to the development costs can be funded.
The funding application must be submitted to the responsible district government.
