Vocational school students who are obliged to attend a vocational school outside Bavaria can apply for a subsidy for board and lodging.
This form can be submitted electronically without signature (e.g. via a secure contact form or by e-mail) or in paper form to the responsible authority.
Vocational school students who are obliged to attend a vocational school outside Bavaria (this mainly applies to the so-called splinter professions) receive reimbursement for the costs of board and lodging if they have to be accommodated away from home.
Accommodation is usually provided in a dormitory provided or recommended by the school. The student's own contribution to the cost of meals is currently up to EUR 5.10 per day for full board.
In the event of unexcused absence from lessons or expulsion from the school for disciplinary reasons, no reimbursement of costs will be granted. For a single room provided on request, only the costs of a shared room will be reimbursed.
Accommodation away from home is deemed necessary if a pupil cannot reasonably be expected to return to their place of habitual residence every day on consecutive teaching days. This is generally the case if, when using regular transportation, the absence from the place of habitual residence is more than twelve hours or the time required to travel between the place of habitual residence and the vocational school is more than three hours.
When reimbursing costs in accordance with Art. 10 Para. 7 BaySchFG, only those expenses are taken into account that are incurred in connection with regular vocational school lessons and relate exclusively to the school-based part of the training. Only the time of regular block instruction (first to last day of school) is taken into account.
The journeyman's examination and the practical training are part of the in-company training. Costs cannot be reimbursed for this in accordance with Art. 10 Para. 7 BaySchFG.
The application must be submitted to the government responsible for the district school. In the case of a cross-state district, the government in whose jurisdiction the training relationship exists is responsible.
The application must be submitted and signed by the adult vocational student or legal guardian, as only this group of persons is entitled to reimbursement of costs. If the reimbursement of costs is assigned to a third party (e.g. the training company because it has made an advance payment), the application must still be submitted and signed by the adult vocational student or legal guardian - unless a general declaration of assignment has been issued. The assignment is then made by entering the beneficiary in the field "... for transfer to the following account:".
