Procedure details

The shooting plan must be drawn up by the owner of the hunting ground in agreement with the hunting board, in the case of leased hunting grounds in agreement with the person entitled to hunt. It must be confirmed or set by the lower hunting authority in agreement with the hunting council.

In addition to the physical condition of the game, the state of the vegetation, in particular the forest regeneration, must be given priority in the shooting plan. The responsible forestry authorities must be given the opportunity in advance to comment on the basis of a forestry report on game damage that has occurred on land used for forestry and to present their opinion on the situation of forest regeneration.

Monitoring
The owner of the hunting ground is obliged to comply with the shooting plan for hoofed game. Fulfilment of the plan is monitored in particular by keeping a list of game and submitting it to the hunting authority and by providing physical evidence by showing all or part of the game carcass and can be enforced if necessary.

Hunting shows
Public hunting shows are held annually to monitor the implementation of the shooting plans and to collect certain data.
The purpose of the hunting shows is to provide information, in particular on

  1. the development of the game damage situation and forest regeneration, taking into account the reports of the forestry authorities on the state of the vegetation,
  2. the fulfillment of the shooting plans, the physical condition of the game and the structural development of the game population, taking into account the headdress of the hoofed game shot or found dead,
  3. the population development of game species not subject to the shooting plan and
  4. the measures taken to improve the living conditions of wildlife.

The owners of hunting grounds are obliged to submit the headdress of all hoofed game shot or found dead in their hunting grounds in the last hunting year. The recognized hunters' associations are responsible for carrying out the public game inspection. The hunting authority is responsible for performing sovereign tasks.
