In Bavaria, the professional titles "architect", "interior architect" and "landscape architect" may only be used by those who are entered under this title in the list of architects at the Bavarian Chamber of Architects.
Anyone who is allowed to use the professional title "architect" is also authorized to submit building plans; anyone who is allowed to use the professional title "interior architect" is authorized to submit building plans for structural alterations to buildings associated with the professional task;

Requirements
- Successful university degree in the field of architecture (four-year standard course of study) or interior or landscape architecture (three-year standard course of study in each case)
- subsequent two years of professional practice; in the field of architecture, professional practice must be supervised
- from the winter semester 2026/2027, according to Art. 4 para. 2 no. 2 letters b and c, interior and landscape architecture must be studied for eight semesters instead of six
