The Free State of Bavaria supports the construction and renovation of sports facilities that sports clubs need for the direct sports activities of their members.
The grants are intended to enable sports clubs to build and maintain their own sports facilities, which they need for the direct sports activities of their members.
Funding is provided for new buildings, conversions and extensions to sports facilities owned by the clubs and, if necessary, for the acquisition of a property and general repairs. The prerequisite is that the facility is required for the direct sports activities of the club members.
Funding is available for expenditure on the construction, conversion and extension of sports facilities. In addition, repair and modernization measures are eligible for funding if the new construction or last general refurbishment was carried out at least six years ago or the expenditure for the repair or modernization measure amounts to at least 65,000 euros. The acquisition of a property (excluding land costs) is also eligible for funding if this makes the necessary construction of a new or extension to a sports facility unnecessary and the acquisition, including the necessary renovations, is the more economical solution than a new construction or extension.
Beneficiaries are clubs.

The funding is granted as a subsidy.
The type of grant is a project grant.
The grants are awarded as project-related subsidies by way of fixed-amount financing and as loans. The funding rate is up to 30 percent of the eligible costs, of which up to 20 percent is a grant and up to 10 percent is a loan. Applications with eligible costs of up to EUR 250,000 (so-called small applications) can be funded with a grant of up to 20 percent of the eligible costs.
Funding is only permitted within the scope of proven sporting needs. As a rule, proof of need should be provided by presenting the planned sports operations, the expected number of participants, the facilities otherwise available to the club and the planned utilization of the sports facility by the club's own sports activities. The applicant club must be the sponsor of all construction measures applied for and must generally have an ownership or hereditary building right to the subsidized property. In a few cases, a long-term right of use is sufficient instead of ownership or heritable building right. Once the facility has been completed, the association must be granted unrestricted, irrevocable and unconditional rights of use and occupancy for a period of at least 25 years. The generally applicable provisions of the administrative regulations on Articles 23 and 44 of the Bavarian Budget Code (BayHO) apply. The association can only be granted a subsidy if the measure has been approved before the start of construction. The association must provide its own contribution, which may not be less than ten percent of the eligible expenditure.
Exclusion criteria:
Partial renovation of building components, ongoing building maintenance and measures caused by inadequate building maintenance are excluded from funding. Furthermore, measures with eligible expenditure of less than EUR 10,000 will not be funded.
Applications for funding from member clubs of the Bayerischer Landes-Sportverband e. V. (BLSV) must be submitted to the BLSV. Applications for funding from member clubs of all other umbrella organizations must be submitted to the responsible government.
There are no costs.
There are no fixed deadlines for this funding.
