The local contribution and fee statutes to the drainage statutes (BGS/EWS) generally stipulate that property owners (and other potential fee payers named in the statutes) must pay wastewater fees to the municipality for the wastewater volumes that are fed into the public drainage system from their property.
The municipalities can use various permissible methods to determine the wastewater charges. For example, uniform discharge charges according to the so-called fresh water scale can be considered, as well as differentiated charges for precipitation and wastewater.
Please contact your local authority for more information on the specific local regulations.
The Free State of Bavaria supports Bavarian towns and municipalities with grants for the renovation of drinking water and wastewater systems in cases of hardship.
