Authorized district chimney sweeps can extend their appointment beyond the previous age limit of 67 until the age of 70 if they are in good health.
Requirements
The applicant must:
- meet the legal requirements for the independent practice of the chimney sweep trade,
- guarantee the personal and professional reliability required to carry out the activity and
- be in good health.
When submitting the application, the statutory maximum term of appointment must be taken into account:
- Expiry of the seven-year appointment period or
- the end of the month in which the person reaches the age of 70.
Proceedings
The application must be submitted in good time by the authorized district chimney sweep in writing or electronically (see under "Forms" or "Online procedure") to the competent authority.
The appointing authority checks the legal requirements. If these are met, the authority will issue the renewal with a chargeable notice.
The extension must be made public by the competent authority and forwarded to the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control for entry in the chimney sweep register. The forwarding can be objected to.
Fees
The fee for extending the appointment as an authorized district chimney sweep is 250 euros.
Deadlines
The application for extension must be submitted six months before reaching the statutory age limit (end of the month in which the person reaches the age of 67).
