You can apply online to the Federal Motor Transport Authority for information about yourself from the Central Vehicle Register.
The Central Vehicle Register stores the vehicle and owner data transmitted by the local registration authorities and additionally by the insurance companies for all vehicles that have a license plate or insurance plate.
In addition, search notes are added to the database for individual vehicles. This includes information on theft and other loss as well as reported incidents, such as information on uninsured vehicles.
In addition, the data on main inspections and safety tests reported by the monitoring institutions are stored in the Central Vehicle Register.
You can use the online register information to obtain information about the data stored in the Central Vehicle Register for your vehicle as the registered keeper.

The processing time for information by post is 5 to 10 working days.
Online register information can only be generated if the corresponding data records in the Central Vehicle Register can be clearly identified on the basis of the available personal data.
Alternatively, a request for information can be sent in writing to the KBA, Department 223.
As the online register information is not an administrative act pursuant to Section 35 sentence 1 VwVfG, no legal remedies are necessary.
