In addition to advising those involved in outpatient assisted living communities, the Care and Housing Coordination Office also addresses other stakeholders and initiators, e.g. of day care facilities and innovative forms of housing and care. These are, in particular, welfare associations, outpatient services, advice centers, but also companies in the private sector that design apartments and living environments and, last but not least, private individuals.
By offering outreach advice, the coordination office also provides local authorities with advice and support in the development of small-scale and local care solutions throughout Bavaria. It also provides information on possible funding and support options and, if required, assists with the application process.
Interested local authorities can also contact the Care and Housing Coordination Office with questions regarding the establishment of care conferences in accordance with Section 8a (3) SGB XI.
In order to avoid exacerbating crisis situations and to support local authorities in cases of sudden and serious disruption to the outpatient care structure, the Coordination Office has been the point of contact for local authority stakeholders throughout the state in acute crisis situations relating to the care infrastructure since August 2024. This is intended to help improve the security of care and the well-being of those in need of care.
Housing advice centers provide important assistance to help people remain in their own homes. Individual advice on adapting housing can help people to live at home as independently as possible.
The Free State of Bavaria grants subsidies to local authorities to strengthen needs-based and needs-oriented care in the local social environment and for the creation, expansion and operation of coordination centers.
The Free State of Bavaria promotes the nationwide and needs-based expansion of the nursing care structure so that people in need of care can remain at home in their familiar surroundings - in their local social environment - for as long as possible.
