Description
A change of business registration may be necessary if you
- move the registered office of your business within the municipality;
- change the object of your business;
- change your name or, in the case of legal entities (e.g. GmbH, UG ), the name of the company or
- expand the object of your business to include goods or services that are not customary for businesses of the type registered.
Although certain trades do not require a permit, they are subject to special official supervision (trades requiring supervision in accordance with § 38 GewO). The following trades are affected:
- Buying and selling by businesses specializing in the trade in second-hand goods;
- Provision of information on financial circumstances and personal matters;
- Arranging marriages, partnerships and acquaintances;
- Operation of travel agencies and accommodation brokerage;
- Distribution and installation of building security equipment, including key services; and
- manufacture and distribution of special theft-related opening tools.

The business registration can be submitted in text form using the form provided to the municipality in which the activity is carried out or to the competent Chamber of Industry and Commerce or Chamber of Crafts. Other bodies (e.g. tax office, Chamber of Crafts or Chamber of Industry and Commerce) will also be informed of the change of business registration.
