Pharmaceutical training comprises three examination sections (state examination).
The first section of the pharmaceutical examination is a written examination and covers the following subjects
The examination takes place over four days in the above order. It lasts two and a half hours on each of the first two days and two hours on each of the following two days.
The second section of the pharmaceutical examination covers the following subjects
The examination is conducted orally on five examination days, which are usually immediately consecutive, with interruptions of up to a maximum of eight days. The examinations are taken before an examination board appointed by the State Examination Office at the university at which you are enrolled.
The third examination section is taken orally before an examination board whose members are appointed by the State Examination Office of the Government of Upper Bavaria.
The examination dates are set by the State Examination Office in consultation with the members of the examination board.
The examination lasts between half an hour and one hour for each candidate and covers both pharmaceutical practice and special areas of law for pharmacists. The examination material is set out in the licensing regulations.
If the candidate has demonstrated the knowledge required to practice the profession of pharmacist, the third examination section is deemed to have been passed. The candidate will be informed on the day of the examination whether he or she has passed the examination. A transcript of the examination will be prepared. Upon passing the third section, the State Examination Office will issue a certificate for the third section of the pharmaceutical examination and the entire pharmaceutical examination.
The applicant will receive information on legal remedies with the notification in the event of non-admission or failure.
The state examination office of the federal state in which the applicant is enrolled or admitted to study pharmacy is responsible for crediting periods of study and academic achievements. In Bavaria, this is the State Examination Office of the Government of Upper Bavaria.
