Procedure details

Purpose

The weekend parent and family education programs are aimed at all parents. They offer preventative support in various phases of partnership, marriage and family. They are intended to help improve relationships and communication between couples and parents and their children.

Object

Funding is available for weekend parent and family education programs that provide parents, single parents, foster parents and parents-to-be with practical information, advice and support through seminars, lectures or similar events. Under certain conditions, a state grant can be awarded for weekend parent and family education programs that are held as weekend seminars (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).

Type and amount

The funding is granted as a subsidy.
The type of grant is a project grant.
The funding period covers the entire duration of the project.

The state grant amounts to up to EUR 27.00 per day of the event for each eligible child and up to EUR 30.50 for each eligible adult.

The state grants are awarded as fixed-amount funding within the framework of project funding.

The following conditions also apply:

  • The family's main place of residence is in Bavaria.
  • It is a weekend seminar for parents, foster parents or parents with at least one child for whom child benefit is received, or for expectant mothers or expectant fathers. Weekend seminars without the participation of children are therefore only eligible for funding for expectant parents.
  • A separated parent who would like to attend a weekend seminar with their children, but for whom the other parent receives child benefit, can in principle also receive the allowance for themselves and the children. The same applies to so-called patchwork families.
  • The educational weekends are organized by the independent welfare associations and their affiliated organizations. The content of the seminar must focus on supporting families in the special family phases, especially before and after the birth of a child and in the case of parenting problems, and must be conducted by appropriate specialist staff (social education workers, qualified psychologists and other specifically trained, qualified specialists). The time frame must comprise at least 13 teaching units and take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday weekends.
  • The income limits and income calculations correspond to those for the promotion of family recreation in family holiday centers.

Exclusion criteria:

Funding for participation in weekend seminars is income-dependent. The family's annual net income must be below the following income limits:

  • EUR 31,000 for a single parent (with one child),
  • for both parents (with one child) EUR 34,000,
  • EUR 4,800 for each additional child.

  • Required document/s
    • Program booklet of the event (e.g. flyer of the organizer)
    • Copy of a current bank statement (with the name of the account holder) or a pay slip as proof of receipt of child benefit (always required). The bank statement must only show the name of the account holder, the date on which the child benefit was booked, the amount of child benefit and the intended use of the child benefit. All other data on the account statement may be blacked out.
    • Complete income tax assessment notice for the previous year, if applicable (an income tax statement alone is not sufficient)
    • if you are not assessed for income tax or a corresponding income tax assessment notice has not yet been issued: completed income questionnaire
    • if you receive child supplement and/or housing benefit: current notification

  • Send the application to the Zentrum Bayern Familie und Soziales.
  • Once the application and the relevant documents have been received, the basic entitlement will be checked and you will receive notification of whether a grant will be awarded and, if so, the maximum amount.
  • You will also receive a confirmation form which must be completed by the organizer at the end of the seminar. Please return this confirmation to the Zentrum Bayern Familie und Soziales immediately after the end of the weekend seminar.
  • Upon receipt of this confirmation, the information will be checked, the final amount of the grant will be determined and the amount due will be paid out to you.

Early start of measures: possible from the time of confirmed receipt of application (A binding booking may only be made after confirmation of receipt of the application by the Zentrum Bayern Familie und Soziales (ZBFS), without this being detrimental to the funding. It is no longer necessary to wait for receipt of the grant notification. However, confirmation of receipt of the application does not constitute a funding commitment; this is only provided with the grant notification after completion of the necessary measures).

none

The application deadline is 3 week(s). The application should be submitted at least three weeks before the start of the weekend seminar. The grant can only be paid out if the confirmation is submitted within 3 months of the end of the approved seminar.

A processing time of 2 week(s) to 4 week(s) is to be expected.

A binding booking may now be made after confirmation of receipt of the application by the Zentrum Bayern Familie und Soziales (ZBFS) without this being detrimental to the funding. It is no longer necessary to wait for receipt of the grant notification. However, confirmation of receipt of the application does not constitute a funding commitment; this will only be issued with the grant notification after completion of the required measures.

The grant will be paid out after the training measure. Advance payment or assignment of the grant is not possible, not even to the organizer or another person.
