Work with asbestos in high-risk areas may only be carried out by specialist companies that have been approved by the competent authority to carry out this work.
This form can be submitted electronically (e.g. via a secure contact form using your user account with login via the electronic ID function or the ELSTER certificate) or handwritten and signed in paper form to the responsible authority.
If you want to carry out activities with asbestos in the high-risk area, you need a license for these activities for your company.
The license is issued upon application by the trade supervisory office responsible for you. The application must be accompanied by proof of sufficient personnel and safety equipment (see requirements).
Approval can only be granted if the applicant can provide evidence of sufficient personnel and safety equipment

The safety equipment includes the following equipment described below, which must be used on the construction site or kept ready for use at the depot:
1. demolition and renovation work on sprayed asbestos
2. demolition and renovation work on weakly bound asbestos products - without sprayed asbestos
3. small-scale demolition and renovation work on weakly bound asbestos products indoors
Compulsory occupational health care in accordance with the Ordinance on Occupational Health Care must have been carried out for all employees working with materials containing asbestos before work begins.
Note: It is at the discretion of the competent authority to ask the applicant to provide evidence of the mandatory occupational health screening carried out for all employees.
The application for approval as a specialist company in accordance with the Hazardous Substances Ordinance (GefStoffV), Annex I No. 2.4.2 Paragraph 4 for demolition and renovation work on weakly bound asbestos products must be submitted to the trade supervisory office responsible for the company headquarters.
Depending on the administrative costs, from EUR 100 to EUR 2,500 (framework fee in accordance with the Schedule of Costs under the Costs Act).
Approval as a specialist company must have been granted by the trade supervisory office responsible for the company headquarters before the start of activities.
Activities involving materials containing asbestos must be reported in advance to the responsible trade supervisory office.
