A mother who is not or was not married to the father of the child can obtain written information about sole custody from the relevant youth welfare office (so-called negative certificate). The information about sole custody from the custody register serves the mother in legal dealings with authorities, banks, kindergartens, schools or doctors as proof that she is entitled to sole parental care for her child. Written information about sole custody can be requested online.
