In the European Year of Volunteering 2011, the Free State of Bavaria introduced a Bavaria-wide honorary activity card in recognition and appreciation of the diverse, voluntary commitment. The district of Aschaffenburg has been involved in the introduction of the honorary activity card from the beginning and would like to use it to thank all citizens who are active in voluntary work and who are particularly committed to the good of the community.
