The Free State of Bavaria takes in ethnic German repatriates and Jewish emigrants assigned to Bavaria, distributes them and provides them with temporary accommodation.
The Commissioner of the Free State of Bavaria for the Reception and Distribution of Foreign Refugees and Aliens who have entered the country without authorization (State Commissioner) is also responsible for the reception and distribution of ethnic German repatriates pursuant to § 4 of the Federal Expellees Act (BVFG) and their relatives pursuant to § 7 para. 2 and § 8 para. 2 BVFG as well as Jewish emigrants.
Late repatriates enter Germany via the Friedland border transit camp after being recognized by the Federal Office of Administration. Jewish emigrants receive a confirmation of admission from the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees before entering Germany.
After distribution to Bavaria by the Federal Office of Administration (for ethnic German repatriates, § 8 BVFG) or the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (for Jewish emigrants), the state commissioner distributes the ethnic German repatriates and Jewish emigrants to the individual administrative districts in accordance with § 127 of the Ordinance on the Implementation of Social Laws. Distribution only takes place if the persons wish to make use of a state facility for temporary accommodation. In principle, the distribution should be based on recognizable family ties.
The governments ensure the immediate accommodation of the forwarded persons in temporary accommodation facilities (usually so-called transitional hostels). The accommodation is only temporary and should be limited to as short a period as possible. The Free State of Bavaria is responsible for the facilities.
The Free State of Bavaria maintains reception facilities within the meaning of Section 44 of the Asylum Act (AsylG), which are set up and operated by the governments.
The reception, accommodation and distribution of asylum seekers is carried out in accordance with Sections 44 et seq. Asylum Act (AsylG) as well as the provisions of the Reception Act (AufnG) and the Asylum Implementation Ordinance (DVAsyl).
In principle, you can only be admitted to Germany as an ethnic German resettler if you leave your resettlement area as part of the admission procedure. Please note that you must always submit your application from the resettlement area.
